The minimum shipment to be ordered from Spain is 150 kg that is approximately equal to 6-7 boxes of the HB type - Half box (Colombia, Ecuador) or 12-14 boxes of the QB type – Quattro box.

Some farms use the smallest boxes - 1 EB box (Eighth Box) - for certain types of flowers, but such boxes are rare.

Taking into consideration the full range of flowers that we offer from different farms, an order for 150 kg may look like this, for example:

• Roses – 3 boxes HB
• Spray roses – 1 box QB
• Gypsophila – 1 box QB
• Carnations (red or mix) - 1 box QB
• Spray carnations - 1 box QB
• Alstroemeria mix or specific color – 1 box QB
• Hydrangea mix or specific color – 1 box QB

+ 1 QB box of one of the flower types we supply, for example:

Stock (Matthiola) or Ranunculus or Anemones or Delphinium or Eucalyptus or Hypericum or Ruscus or Limonium or Callas / Mini-Callas etc.

However, we will not be able to process your request in this form. We will ask you to indicate in detail the varieties, grades and required quantities for each variety.

In fact, the client may order only one or two types of flowers he/she needs, but it is important to accumulate 150 kg shipment weight so that the cost of accompanying documents for the shipment does not significantly affect the final cost of the delivered flowers.

Before starting to work with Daoflowers, it is recommended to begin a constructive dialogue about flower purchases by providing an example of an average weekly order during regular/non-holiday periods. Consequently, we will be able to calculate the delivery cost only after receiving an example of the order. We will price a sample range based on current market prices. The customer from Spain may choose one of the possible options for the delivery of flower cargo:

• Delivery of flowers to the warehouse of our transport agent in Amsterdam with subsequent loading into the truck of the client’s transport company.

  Daoflowers delivers flower shipments to Amsterdam to the warehouse of the handling agency IP Handlers BV that provides the customs clearance for European customers, vacuum pre-cooling of flower shipments, preparation of all the necessary documents, loading to trucks or further air delivery from Amsterdam. If the customer prefers to work with another company that organizes the import procedure, then we can deliver flower shipment to their chosen agent instead.

  Most wholesale customers from Spain also buy flowers at Dutch auctions. Transport companies, upon customer request, first collect orders from these auctions. They then load pre-cooled Daoflowers boxes from the refrigerated warehouse. Finally, these transport companies deliver the shipments from the Netherlands to Spain.

• Arranging logistics to the international airport in Spain specified by the client.

  We deliver flowers on DDU basis to the destination airport. DDU terms mean “Delivered – Duty Unpaid”. In this case, the client needs to arrange customs clearance himself/herself for the flower shipment that will arrive at the specified international airport. Please note that we do not handle customs procedures at the delivery airport, it is the responsibility of the customer. Please, provide us with the name of your nearest international airport so we can verify airline rates and make the necessary calculations of the air delivery costs.

Some customers prefer direct flights, for example to Madrid. However, in addition to higher financial costs, there is a risk of disruption of the cold chain, especially in the summer period. Therefore, we recommend delivering flower cargo through Amsterdam, where flowers undergo a pre-cooling procedure, which allows maintaining a cold chain throughout the entire transportation period.

In order to start cooperation with Daoflowers, the Spanish company will have to open an account with IPHandlers BV or with a similar handling agency that will arrange the customs clearance. To open an account your company will need an EORI number.

The customer will pay for customs (import) procedures directly to IP Handlers or a similar handling company separately from the cost of flowers.

Together with the shipment we deliver a set of documents necessary for the client to undergo customs procedures, namely:

• Invoice for flowers that is also a packing list at the same time
• Flowers phytosanitary certificate
• Certificate of origin

If you need any additional documents, please inform us in advance.

It is necessary for a customer from Spain to provide us with data on the consignee of the flower shipment, in whose name we issue a phytosanitary certificate and a certificate of origin required for the customs (import) procedure.

Daoflowers will issue an invoice to the customers and the prices will include:

• FOB cost of flowers
• Daoflowers commission fee
• Air delivery cost to Amsterdam or specified international airport in Spain
• The cost of vacuum pre-cooling (cooling) of flower shipment and its refrigeration storage until the transfer to the customer`s transport company (in case you use our flower delivery services to Amsterdam).

Due to the regular cooperation with a large number of farms we can provide our customers with indicative prices 3-5 days before the required arrival of goods.
