We are glad to inform our Customers that the situation in Ecuador has returned to normal:
- Strikes are over
- Roads are reopened
- Flowers supplies are back to in the normal operation
Please see below a brief chronology of the events:
An almost two-week strike in Ecuador affected the flower business very much.
The flower farms were affected by this strike: in addition to the blocked roads, protesters began attack the farms and threatened farms’ employees.
Air cargo traffic was disrupted: many airlines were forced to cancel their flights in the last days of the strike.
Over the weekend, the Government and protesters of Ecuador finally reached a settlement agreement.
The Government has denounced its Resolution to withdraw the fuel state subsidy.
